For the last 20 years, community journalism and storytelling has been my passion. From hard news stories with lasting impact to heart-touching feature stories, I've covered it all.
On my porch, holding a steaming cup of coffee on the cool country morning, is where I do my best thinking. For more than 20 years, I've focused on telling the stories of my community and beyond. I studied Communications with a concentration in Print Journalism at Troy University and worked at all levels of newspaper publications. I most recently served as the president of a publishing company until about five years ago when I transitioned to a development and design position at a national non-profit. Now, I spend my days working to better the lives of thousands of youth and families across the U.S. and freelancing with an assortment of publications.
With a background of editing, reporting, design, and more, I look to continue my history of storytelling, news reporting, or feature writing. I love research and pieces that have an impact on our daily lives and communities.
I live on an Alabama farm with my husband and our daughter (one of five children) - the last to leave the nest when she begins college in August 2022. During my 20-year career as a journalist, I've sent people to prison, uncovered government corruption, and told the hard facts as well as covered the heart-warning stories and crazy tales of our community.
